Stringing Choices For Beading & Jewelry Making
One important lesson I learned is that no one, for all purposes stringing material.
Here are the main materials put together with how and when to use each of them.
Floss Silk includes a beautiful “hand” (a soft and flexible). This wire is available in different sizes and colors. Is packed into rolls, and “carded” needle. This is a classic material stretching and forms beautiful knots between the beads and pearls to be. But, silk tends to relatively vulnerable. Will suddenly be cut with abrasive beads, rot when wet, and pearls strung on silk should be stressed again every few years. when is it better to use silk thread pearls and light, smooth pearls holes alone. A needle is crucial.
Nylon thread (Nymo): This debate is common in various sizes and colors. It is packaged in rolls, rolls, and “carded” needle. Nylon can be used when the end-all and it’s not so fragile. This beautiful material nodes and can be used for pearl stringing, strung beaded jewelry in some seeds, loom, peyote, and special points for alternative and heishe. Nylon stretches abundant, but silk, and will not rot when wet. As a side, you should not use beads with sharp edges or holes that are important. after using nylon thread, I would suggest that the hair of your discussion with beeswax or “HeavenTM wire” before use, to prevent fraying. A needle is crucial.
BONDED NYLON: This is a much stronger form of nylon are. The strands are physically linked together for greater durability and extra protection. nodes, but hey, do not have the “hand” of silk. Bonded nylon comes in a form of color and very small coils. due to wear, you will be able to use it with the “hard”, more abrasive gem beads, in reality it is approaching a “universal message.” The names are all “Stringth” or “Silkon”. A needle is crucial, even if you are able to “Super Glue” to introduce at the top to make a “Self-needle.” This may be a material edge of my favorites.
FISHING LINE: This material can be cumbersome, semi-rigid, single strand of plastic to be. Not good nodes, and in the light of day time or ultraviolet light will do to weaken and disintegrate. Prevalence is not bought and sold in rolls in sports merchandising stores. Personally I use fishing line for two functions. I use it to try to do my preliminary stringing while I’m designing a necklace (pearls on a superior material for the final transfer), and “raw” beads plow forward. no needle is required. I never could use this material for one last piece in relief.
